An exercise machine is only effective if you use it, so pick the one that won't sit in a corner and gather dust, no matter how good other people say it is.

Ideally it would be best to go to a gym and mix up your routines, but if you plan on just getting one piece of equipment for your home, figure out which one suits your lifestyle best.

And you should always keep in mind that if you want your exercise to really be effective and help you lose weight, you should also be eating healthy. A good diet plus exercise is the only real recipe for successful weight loss.
