Tips For Waking Up Earlier In The Morning

Sometimes we need to wake up earlier than usual in the morning and if we are tied to a normal nightly schedule, it can become quite difficult to do so. I personally am used to my 8 hours of sleep and I find it very tough to have to open my eyes even a few minutes earlier than I usually do.

So here are a few tips to help you wake up earlier - tips that helped me as well.

This sounds like common sense but many people are ignoring it: never go very late to sleep when you know you have to wake up earlier the next morning. The less sleep you get, the tougher it will become to wake up afterwards.

If you find that you cant go to sleep early enough, there are a few things you can do. For example I like to exercise so I get my body tired. This will ensure that I am actually sleeping when I want to.

Another thing that helps me is to take a book with me when I go to sleep - the book should be rather boring, not horror or crime - and read a few pages. This is almost 100% success guarantee.

Make sure you set your alarm from the night before. This is the surest way to get up in the morning.

Waking up the next morning is only the half won battle. Many people wake up only to go back to sleep because they dont have any push that keeps them awake. So you need to be mentally strong and really get up as soon as you open your eyes. One way to do this is by using one of those flying or jumping alarm clocks. As soon as the alarm starts to ring, it actually jumps off from the bed, so I have to get up to stop it from killing my nerves! Works every time.

When you know that you need to get up earlier the next day, avoid drinking any coffee. The caffeine in your favorite beverage will mess with your inner balance and will not allow you to sleep - even with a boring book in your hands!

As you can see, there are many things you can do, but you do need a bit of willpower to pull it off. Of course props such as the jumping alarm clock or opening the curtain wide right after opening your eyes should definitely help.

If you have a hearing problem and need to get up earlier the next day, you need to get yourself a hearing impaired alarm clock. Another great option is a gradual light alarm clock that will slowly get brighter, thereby gently waking you up from your sleep.
