Is it possible to avoid Asian glow? If youre reading this article, you probably already have an understanding of what Asian glow or Asian flush is all about. Youre probably asking yourself, "How can I stop those embarrassing red face moments?"
For the most part, red facial flushing is by far the biggest reason why this disorder is so popular or you are so unpopular. Sufferers think that this problem is only skin deep but it isnt. They are hoping there is some magic pill that will make these symptoms go away and they can be normal again. Well, as you may already know, there is no official treatment for this condition. There is no magic pill that you can purchase from the local drugstore geared towards curbing symptoms of Asian glow.
That is really bad news. I know because I have had this condition all of my adult life. My symptoms are unique to me. I have other friends who have this condition who experience quite different symptoms by consuming more or less alcohol. Everyone is different. The way Ive learned to avoid Asian glow is to understand my symptoms. In others words, control it.
When I first started experiencing the symptoms, I did my research and also asked my doctor. My doctor informed what it was and that it is not a condition you should ignore. So my story continues... I decided to continue going out drinking but learned to keep my symptoms in check. I would take a drink but look in the mirror to see if I started to develop a red tint to my face or even a shade of pink. Do I feel flush? Is there any swelling? Am I getting a headache, is my heart racing?
Im looking for all the symptoms Ive had in the past. If I didnt come up with any symptoms 30 minutes after the last drink. I would go ahead and get a second drink. I chose to drink the second one slowly just because I felt if I started to develop any symptoms, this would be my last one for the night.
For me, this was a routine. My prime motivation for monitoring it, was I didnt want to turn red in front of everyone. Its worked for me and it can work for you. I know, Its a little superficial but what Im trying to say is. I want to drink but I also dont want to look like a freak. For some of you, when youre young and just starting to drink, turning red faced may just be a novelty but for others, it is a true embarrassment. If the red face is accompanied by feeling ill, such as headaches, a racing heart, and so forth, I would think you have enough common sense to curb your drinking and enjoy yourself other ways. Of course, thats easy to say. But I know what youre going through. Just hang in there and make an effort to control it. Thats my lesson on avoiding Asian glow. Hope this helps.
