Hate Those Love Handles Away

Is it possible to hate away your love handles? The answer is yes, & no. If your hate turns into positive action focused on ridding yourself of the love handles, then definitely you can hate those babies away. On the other hand, if the hatred makes you wallow in self pity, then no, it doesn't happen. =) So, what is the positive action needed to get rid of those pesky love handles? You have to begin by eating better & exercising. There's no way around it.

First of all, your eating habits do need to change. Why? Because as you continue to eat fatty foods, the fat just keeps piling on in the problem areas -love handles, stomach, thighs, etc. You don't have to completely avoid your favorite foods, but you do have to recognize that they are contributing to the problem. Most every food out there has a lowfat/fat free version that are most of the time just as good. Consider trying them, or just substituting the fatty food for something altogether different. For example, buy fresh fruit & when you have an impulse to eat something sweet, grab an apple. I've found that if the food is ready to pop in my mouth, I'm more likely to eat it. Granola is a good sweet snack too.

Once you're eating habits aren't continually packing on the pounds, you can see some serious changes in your shape if you add exercise. I'm not talking wimpy, half hearted exercising. I'm talking sweat filled, gut busting exercising. You need to get your heartrate up to burn calories, & then do exercises that focus directly on the love handles (or any problem area). There are many workout videos that do a great job at just that. P90X, Insanity, & The Pit Workout, are meant to get you in shape. When followed, you'll definitely see results. However, you don't have to use a workout video. There are many workouts you can follow that will achieve the same results. Cardio to get your heart rate up & then exercises specifically for the obliques.

What if you can't make the huge change in your lifestyle right away? Then do it little by little. Small things do add up & over time, you will notice a difference too-the results just won't come as quick or be as dramatic. Remember with anything in life, you get out of it what you put into it. Don't be discouraged if things aren't happening as quickly as you'd like. It's taken time to build the fat, it'll take time to lose it. And, everyone's body is different, but where there's a will, there's a way. Be sure to reward yourself for the gains you do make. Progress is progress, no matter how small. Know that you are not alone & that many people are rooting for you to succeed! Now, just how much do you hate your love handles?
