What is a Brazilian wax?
Hey guys, today we are going to talk about a taboo topic - Brazilian wax. For those of you who don't know, a Brazilian wax is a hair removing technique, involving the use of strip wax or hard wax. A Brazilian will remove all of your pubic hair, back and front. It is the most "complete", if you will, type of bikini waxes and it has become very popular among women, but also men, all over the world.
Tips before a Brazilian wax
Brazilian waxing is most of the time associated with pain, discomfort and embarrassing situations or positions, therefore many women are having second thoughts about it. Below I am going to list a few things that you can to do diminish the discomfort you might feel, and have a great waxing experience.
Tip 1:Ask questions. The first and most important thing you can do is to talk to beauty therapists before your appointment. Ask them anything that bothers you and make sure you get an overview of the procedure. Also, if you have any friends that got a Brazilian before, talk to them as well, get as much info as you can.
Tip 2: Don't shave or trim your hair before the appointment. Your pubic hair should be a certain length so that the waxing will be efficient. By the book, this length is around ¼- ½ of an inch. You can obtain this length by shaving and then waiting 3 weeks or so. If your hair is longer than that, you can still make an appointment for a Brazilian and ask the beauty therapist to trim your hair to the right length before the waxing.
Tip 3: Don't use any products on your skin before the waxing. Various products can interact with the wax or may prevent it from sticking to the hair and so on and so forth. The only one using cosmetic products on you is the beauty therapist.
Tip 4: Don't drink coffee or alcohol before the waxing because it will increase the sensitiveness of your skin, causing more discomfort.
Tip 5: If you have a low pain threshold or if you are having your first Brazilian, I recommend taking a pain killer one or two hours before your appointment. Ibuprofen is good for this.
These are the most important five tips I can think of, make sure you to this and your waxing should go as planned. Of course you should check out what aftercare is required as well.
Typically, a Brazilian will last anywhere between 4 and 6 weeks, so you only need to get 3 or 4 of them during a summer. The prices vary a lot depending on the place, so you can get one for as low as 30 bucks or as high as 80 or 90 dollars.
